THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Jennifer James 101 Restaurant Review:

Exhibit A in the case for Albuquerque’s fledgling restaurant renaissance: Jennifer James 101. Where so many chefs strut the farm-to-table talk, James, formerly of Graze, walks the walk; joined by fellow chef-owners Nelle Bauer and Kelly Burton, she employs subtle techniques to showcase her streamlined aesthetic (likewise reflected by the sleek décor). The menu is short and deceptively simple; its charm is in the globally inspired, locally sourced, produce-abundant detail. Flash-fried and Szechuan-spiced quail legs snap with a sprinkling of peanuts marinated in black vinegar, while fried chicken with chow chow and shrimp over cheese grits nod graciously to the Deep South; mini-chocolate “burritos” amount to adorable Mexican cannoli. The well-edited wine list is one of the best in town, thanks to its emphasis on small producers and up-and-coming varietals. Not cheap by Duke City standards, it’s very reasonable given its quality; that could be said of the restaurant as a whole, with its relative lack of pretension evident especially at the community table, where James serves up a three-course family-style meal every Wednesday.
