THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Johnny's Half Shell Restaurant Review:

When Johnny’s Half Shell on Capitol Hill closed, local foodies wondered what would happen next. As fate had it, chef Ann Cashion took the seafood brand back to her original Cashion’s Eat Place space in Adams Morgan. Interior décor is brand new and aqua-colored, but the kitchen is turning out the same food for which chef Cashion is famous. Especially the seafood. Menus are replete with interesting seafood fare, from a hearty New Orleans file gumbo and a crunchy oyster po’ boy at brunch to premium raw oysters, grilled calamari and spice-rubbed Maine lobster at dinnertime. But whether you select only seafood or mix it up with New England clam chowder and grilled rib-eye in the evening, you will rejoice that Cashion is cooking again. For a sweet ending to your meal, the short dessert lineup may include roasted pears with goat’s milk caramel, a lemon chess pie with blackberry sauce and the chocolate angel food cake with caramel sauce. Look for an inspiring wine and drinks list, and in the evening, patrons can sit in the back behind a fish tank and sip wine while watching oysters being shucked.
