Kabuki is a chain of Japanese restaurants with a menu of classic dishes and fresh and creative sushi, a range of saké cocktails, a well-chosen wine list and a lively, modern vibe. This location at Huntington Beach’s Bella Terra Mall is situated right across from the movie theater, making it a good place for a pre- or post-film snack or meal. Corporate chef Masa Kurihara oversees the menu of hot and cold appetizers, salads, noodles, bento boxes, sushi and sashimi, signature entrées, massive family-style multi-entrée "boats," seasonal specials, a wealth of vegetarian items and desserts. We enjoy starting with spicy and salty garlic edamame and a cold Japanese brew. Or try the crisp yet tender fried calamari rings with wasabi mayo and a spicy teriyaki sauce. We also suggest the roasted miso black cod accompanied by sweet corn and asparagus. Kids' meals have grown-up tastes, as in the slightly spicy bone-in barbecued beef ribs with white rice and green salad.
