KIRAN’S HAS REOPENED AT ITS NEW LOCATION AT 2925 RICHMOND AVE. Chef Kiran Verma uses local ingredients to create dishes from Southern India with just a bit of a British take. Elegant dinners might begin with a bowl of lobster bisque with a pour of aged sherry, before progressing with a duck kebab or lump crab cakes. There’s also a selection of attractively presented Indian street food, like chaats and samosas; a well-thought-out vegetarian menu; and classic India dishes such as chicken vindaloo and seafood curry. But Verma is equally adept at turning out tandoori Texas quail, hers topped with a mixed berry chutney. Check out the afternoon tea offered every Saturday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
