Kotobuki Japanese Cuisine Restaurant Review:

This restaurant's longevity is thanks to chef Masa Sato, or the "Japanese sushi stylist" as he is better known, who has been slicing up "ocean fresh sushi" here for decades. Start light with gyoza soup, a Japanese version of the traditional Chinese wonton with three pillowy dumplings in a chicken broth. Traditional sushi preparations are key and include standards as well as specialties like the "Masa" composed of spicy tuna and cucumber wrapped inside out with white tuna and scallion, then drizzled with a spicy wasabi tobiko. The "Rainbow" is a favorite, with yellowtail wrapped inside out with tuna, salmon, yellowtail and white fish, as well as avocado. The menu also runs the Japanese gamut from hot and cold appetizers, like the broiled rainbow trout and negimaki, to tempuras and barbecue classics. Also available are an array of sukiyakis, meats and seafood marinated in soy saké and broth accompanied by vegetables, and katsus (breaded pork, chicken and seafood cutlets served over rice and stir-fried vegetables). Kotobuki offers a selection of sakés, wines and beers to complement your meal.
