La Sirena is an elegant-yet-casual Italian eatery housed in The Maritime Hotel. Names of Italian dishes and ingredients are mangled, the wrong wine is refilled into glasses, and service, in general, is achingly slow. But once the food (finally) hits your table in the light and airy dining room (or the room with the long bar), you’ll be satisfied. Expect tip-top pasta delights such as an inventive ravioli all’ amatriciana, which turns the classic Roman dish outside in; and a hearty bucatini with spicy tomato sauce and octopus. Choose from fare like tender sweet-and-sour pork meatballs and a show-stopping dry-aged bone-in New York strip for two. Desserts are jumbled with too many ingredients in each option. At the end of the meal, order a Sambuca or another glass of wine from the long list, which is in the form of an iPad.
