Lampuga Restaurant Review:

The Mediterranean fare at decent prices coupled with a casual yet upscale atmosphere make this eatery a sure bet in the Condesa, where restaurants are notorious for relying more on their looks than on the quality of their food. Lampuga’s specialty is seafood, generally grilled and flavorfully dressed (although they’ll fry it, too), with a good selection of thoughtful, delicately constructed appetizers, soups and salads. The young, attractive crowd goes for shared starters like the homemade pâté or a niçoise salad (neither of which are easy to find in the D.F.). Lentil soup may need a kick-start---a dash of the homemade salsa picante will do the trick. The salmon (other options include equally fresh tuna, shrimp and sea bass) is among the city’s best: nicely grilled, mild and bathed in fresh-herb butter. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the people-watching is almost as good as the food itself.
