With its romantic yet casual ambience, Le Chardonnay is perfect for laid-back date nights or drinks with friends before catching a show in the surrounding theater district. Low lighting and wood-lined décor give the place the feel of a rustic wine cellar. Candles on tables provide just enough illumination to read the menu and make everyone look good. Food ranges from cedar-roasted rib-eye to a large selection of gourmet wood-fired pizzas. Dine lightly on tapas, such as baked Brie with honey pesto or wood-oven roasted oysters and sliders topped with smoked Gouda. Main attractions among desserts are Key lime pie and crème brûlée. Le Chardonnay boasts one of the most impressive wine lists in Midtown, with more than 100 choices (around 40 are offered by the glass). Domestic wines dominate but other wine-growing regions are represented as well.
