THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Little Rhein Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

Since 1967, the Little Rhein, a River Walk mainstay, has been serving Prime steaks in an ultra-atmospheric historic house in the shadow of the hulking Hilton Palacio del Rio. The outdoor terrace is equally compelling. And though no longer the only serious steakhouse game in town, it has made only minimal changes to the immutable menu. Snails in garlic butter, lump crab-stuffed avocado and house-smoked salmon remain the bulwark of the appetizer section. And perhaps this is precisely the point: the steaks, the Prime porterhouse for two and bone-in New York strip among them, are still topnotch; the service is professional; and the wine list, shared with The Fig Tree next door, can be counted on for exceptional reds to bolster carnivorous cravings. Roasted natural chicken and barbecue-glazed Scottish salmon are available as alternatives to big beef. Be sure you request the good glassware for your cellar-worthy wines of whatever color, however. And don't fail to indulge further in the warm Hill Country brownie or the sticky toffee pudding.
