Like one of the area's resident hipsters, Local Mission Eatery is smart, fashionable and eco-conscious. Brunch features heavy-on-the-produce savory dishes such as scrapple with asparagus with pickled vegetables, or scrambled farm eggs with roasted root vegetables, parsnip purée and a healthy dollop of fresh ricotta. Lunch is an assortment of seasonal sandwiches and soups: chicken salad with sugar snap peas, pickled onions, mizuna and mint; a springy asparagus soup served chilled. Dinner is more rarefied but remains distinctly "local": a collection of dishes (rabbit agnolotti, grilled quail, green garlic soup) can be served in small or large portions appropriate for sharing and pairing with a selection from the brief but elegant list of local beer and wine. No matter what you order, save room for dessert.
