Locale Italian Kitchen Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: Located in Mountain’s Edge in southwest Las Vegas, the intimate 75-seat setting has décor elements that include a mirrored wall, copper accents, hanging Edison lights, large slate-colored barn doors separating the bar from the dining room, and black wood tables and chairs. There’s an open kitchen, too.

Likes: The price points are quite reasonable.
Dislikes: None.

Food & Drinks: Ingredients produced by local farms are sourced along with select items from Italy for the meat-centric menu of Italian cuisine. Enticing choices for dinner include charred octopus; fritto misto with lightly battered calamari and shrimp; rigatoni bolognese with veal, beef and pork ragù, tomatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano; and meaty items like bone-in grilled lamb chop, grilled NY strip and Heritage Foods pork. Lunch/brunch options feature pizzas – the “Pane Frattau” highlights guanciale (pork jowl bacon), sunny side up eggs and a dough sweetened with honey; pastas like house-made ravioli stuffed with beef cheek and served with an aged balsamic; and brunch classics enlivened with savory components, such as a frittata with broccoli rabe, tomato, 24-month Galloni prosciutto, and goat and feta cheese. Save room for panna cotta at dinner, or baked french toast utilizing bread baked with vanilla and paired with a fresh berry purée, whipped cream and cinnamon offered during lunch/brunch. Complementing the fare is a wine list focusing on Italian and California labels, craft beer and original cocktails, among them “The Gesture” with Whistling Andy Harvest Bourbon, Averna, Bauchant Orange Liqueur and chocolate bitters.
