The Luggage Room Pizzeria Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Located next door to La Grande Orange Café, occupying the former luggage room at the restored train station, is this lively pizzeria. Red walls, a prominent wood-burning oven and a horseshoe-shaped bar illuminated by a trio of crystal chandeliers cast a casual, funky vibe, heightened by loud music.

Food & Drinks: The menu is short, but consider starting with the LGO chopped salad, a generous portion of lightly dressed chopped greens elevated by diced salami, pistachios and golden raisins. Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese are as sweet as a dessert, but somewhat addictive. Among pizzas, consider the "mushroom party," with crimini and oyster mushrooms and fennel --- an optional runny egg is recommended. The "rocket man" is loaded with Fresno chiles, broccolini, roasted garlic and oven-dried tomatoes. The "dalai lama" is a vegan pie with cashew cheese, peppers, pesto, brissels sprouts and kale. For a finale, we recommend Key lime pie or the multi-layered red velvet cake. The mostly California wine list is more than respectable, but a bit pricey for a pizzeria. Cocktails include the "amaro punch" --- Fords gin, Amaro ciociaro, lemon and sparkling water --- which can be ordered by the carafe for the table.
