Magasin Vietnamese Café Restaurant Review:

Magasin’s owners gutted a former dilapidated grocery store and refashioned it into a sleek, modern, black-and-white space with oversize windows and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is the draw, though, with the highest priced items just $10.50, and those are a chopped filet mignon entrée and a seafood noodle soup. Fried rice is a revelation thanks to the subtle seasoning, which is also the case for many dishes. There’s an assortment of pho (try the pho brisket), bun with vermicelli, spring rolls (we like the lemon grass chicken), sandwiches and appetizers, as well as a crab Rangoon that is a contender for the city’s best. The restaurant does not serve alcohol, but customers bring their own, as the establishment charges no corkage fee. Red velvet cake is occasionally offered for dessert, but no sweets are featured on the menu. Magasin fills up quickly when the doors open and the service can be a bit sketchy, but it’s still worth the trip.
