Maison Publique Awards
A locavore gastropub backed by Jamie Oliver.
Maison Publique Restaurant Review:
When chef Derek Dammann partnered with his friend Jamie Oliver to open this Plateau neighborhood gastropub, diners came in droves for his Welsh rarebit and deep-fried rabbit. But they came back post-hype to try the foie gras parfait and maiale-tonnato pork in tuna sauce, rarely leaving without ordering the cream-covered apple Eton Mess or the homemade soft-serve ice cream for dessert. In addition to the interesting wine list, don’t miss the restaurant’s own cider and Quebec beers on tap. Brunch is a more casual affair, with quiche Lorraine, blood pudding and stacks of pancakes topped with bacon, blueberries, maple syrup and generous dobs of butter.
