THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Maximo's Italian Grill Restaurant Review:

In a city that's flush with Italian restaurants, Maximo’s stands out because of its hip, stylized atmosphere and chef Justin Daw’s contemporary take on Northern Italian dishes. Among the pastas, we recommend the crawfish with penne and a red pepper cream sauce, although the four-cheese ravioli is a strong competitor. The restaurant is known for its rack of lamb, served with Parmesan-crusted potatoes. Unique “fire-roasted” items include the fish of the day and a jumbo Gulf shrimp dish that will remind you why you love dining in New Orleans. Desserts continue the Italian theme, with such classics as tiramisu and sorbetti. The wine list is heavy on Italian selections, and the staff is well educated with respect to pairing the dishes with appropriate wines. Maximo’s features semi-private, distinctive high-backed booths, tailor made for romance. Alternatively, if you can score a seat at the dining bar facing the open kitchen, your experience will be as much culinary theater as sensory overload.
