THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mint Leaf Restaurant Review:

If you didn't know it was here, you might miss Mint Leaf as it stands on a corner of the Haymarket in a former bank. But persevere for this is one of London's good but less well known Indian restaurants and the low-lit bar is a real magnet. The large lower ground floor is divided into different sections, separated by carved wooden screens. Tables are ample, seating is comfortable and the lighting is low and discreet. The menu offers classics with a modern touch --- grilled salmon with cheese, yogurt and pink peppercorns; chicken marinated with mint, coriander and makrut lime leaf; kebabs; and grilled lamb cutlets. Platters are generous and an ideal way to sample a selection, and if you’ve started with cocktails at the snazzy front bar, you’ll probably need help in choosing. Breads, rice and all the accompaniments are topnotch and there is an imaginative wine list. But it does come at a price, so this is not the place to drop into for a casual meal. Mint Leaf Lounge & Restaurant at 12 Angel Ct., Lothbury, assuages the thirsts of those in the City. Lunch and pre-theatre menus 2 courses £13.95, 3 courses £17.50.
