THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mirage Persian Cuisine Restaurant Review:

The soothing interior of this sizable family-owned and -operated restaurant is bedecked with visuals that evoke the rich Persian culture the cuisine represents. Whatever you order, do not bypass something with eggplant: creamy, fragrant and rich, it invites the use of the Persian flatbread to scoop up every last bit. Main courses, served with saffron-topped basmati rice, range from lamb to chicken and grilled vegetable dishes. Kebabs are a staple. We especially like the uniquely flavored lamb shanks or khoreshs (stews), such as fesenjoon: chicken in a thick pomegranate-based sauce. Vegetarian selections are extensive and aromatic with fascinating flavors. Made-in-house desserts include faloudeh, for which rice noodles are enclosed in a rosewater-scented sorbet. Squeeze some lemon juice on top and you’ll find it most palate refreshing. Saffron ice cream is the best of the genre we've seen in ages. The wine list isn't extensive but it contains by-the-glass offerings that pair well with the food; a rosé would be ideal with the fare, but the Monteviña White Zinfandel complements the fesenjoon. Alternatively, have a cup of tea or the serious Persian coffee.
