THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mo-Chica Restaurant Review:

Mo-Chica’s original incarnation was situated at the Mercado La Paloma, and the Peruvian eatery was reinvented at this downtown location. The front of the industrial space features an exhibition-style kitchen, and a hallway lined with two-top tables leads to another dining room with a graffiti art mural. The atmosphere has been improved, but Mo-Chica thankfully remains an easy and unpretentious place to spend an evening out. The menu, presented on brightly colored construction paper, offers contemporary interpretations of Peruvian comfort food. Mussel shells are heaped with grilled chopped mussels, prawns, squid and tomato choclo salsa, while sangrecita (black sausage) is served with jalapeño salsa and a fried egg. Other options range from “quinotto” (quinoa risotto) to paiche, an Amazonian fish from Peru accompanied by ajiaco de arroz and cherry tomato escabeche. Adventurous eaters might be tempted by the tripe or alpaca stew. Desserts include alfajores, which are cookie sandwiches topped with powdered sugar and filled with dulce de leche and chocolate ganache. There's a small wine list as well as cocktails spotlighting the South American spirit pisco.
