Neal's Coffee Shop Restaurant Review:
Friendly staff, lots of booths and community folks bumping into each other and joining each other’s tables over laminated menus make Neal's as prototypical a coffee shop and diner as you'll find in any American city. You can opt for the California-influenced page of Neal's Healthy Specials, offering a low-cholesterol omelet (egg white with a side of home fries and pancakes) and the Popeye version of the same (filled with spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella), or you can just jump all the way in, as we did, with the Swedish sandwich: two crêpes, one egg any style and two pieces of bacon or sausage. Opens at 6 a.m. during the week and 7 a.m. on weekends, which may make it your earliest weekday breakfast option on the Peninsula.
