This tiny eatery just off of M Street NW serves up New Orleans fare in the form of an oyster po’ boy featuring plump oysters crisped by deep-frying; steaming-hot beignets generously sprinkled with confectioners’ sugar; and a seafood gumbo that underscores its Southern roots. Unfortunately, one can eat only just so much on any given visit, and that means passing up the jambalaya, a Tuesday special, or Wednesday’s muffaletta. Perhaps the best way around this deprivation is to order ten different po’ boys and have an at-home or in-the-office feast. The sleep-deprived can stoke up on authentic New Orleans chicory coffee between bites of the hot beignets.
