New York Grill Restaurant Review:

New York Grill lies in the shadows of a tangled freeway interchange, adjacent to a massive suburban outlet center --- a location that's the absolute antithesis of Midtown Manhattan. But the restaurant does its best to provide the flavor of the Big Apple, both on the menu and in the dining room, which is reminiscent of a traditional steakhouse. Paintings of the Manhattan skyline line pumpkin walls, while patrons at candlelit white-linened tables enjoy music wafting over from an adjoining lounge that features some of the best jazz in the Inland Empire. At lunch, you can choose between a Reuben and Coney Island hot dog, but at dinner Prime beef takes center stage. Starters include classics like oysters Rockefeller and a velvety lobster bisque. Entrées range from a filet wrapped with applewood-smoked bacon and topped with blue cheese to an 18-ounce veal porterhouse steak. There's also rack of lamb, prime rib and the obligatory lobster tail. Specials might bring duck confit agnolotti in a sherry cream sauce or king salmon cooked in Pinot Noir and thyme. The wine list is substantial, with 40 by-the-glass options and plenty of California's top Cabernet Sauvignon producers. For dessert, what else but New York cheesecake? A vine-covered cigar patio offers full lunch and dinner service with a selection of cigars, port, Cognac and brandy.
