Dining with a high-energy toddler or someone who won't eat gluten, dairy or paprika? Head to Old Wives’ Tales. Not only does it have an extensive kids’ menu and many simple small plates (think separate orders of rice, noodles or roast chicken), but it also boasts an entertaining playroom where parents can talk while the children frolic. The 90-percent gluten-free menu is jam-packed with multi-ethnic vegetarian, chicken and seafood dishes. The menu is customizable, too, and your server will patiently recite the ingredients of each dish. The big salad bar includes the restaurant’s trademark Hungarian mushroom soup. Breakfast, which includes gluten-free salmon cakes, is served all day. Don't miss the vegan oatmeal cake for dessert.
