Osteria Langhe Restaurant Review:

This underrated spot is an inviting, casual eatery from restaurateur Aldo Zaninotto, situated at the Eastern edge of Logan Square. Focusing on authentic Italian cuisine, specifically from the Piedmont region, it shines thanks to chef/partner Cameron Grant, who has traveled and cooked extensively in the region. His modern, Midwestern and, in some cases, global spin on the classics --- like vitello tonnato with thinly sliced poached beef over a citrusy, creamy tuna-caper sauce alongside a Scotch egg --- delights. Other dishes demonstrate his finesse with seafood, including pan-roasted halibut with a bright puttanesca sauce as well as slow-cooked, lightly charred octopus atop vichyssoise-inspired leek-potato purée. Pair dishes with well-thought-out, affordable wines and Prosecco by the glass, plus modernized classic cocktails like the Italian Negroni.
