About the restaurant: Proprietor-chef Elouise Adams Jones (“Ouisie”) welcomes guests to her rustic-yet-chic New England-style digs on San Felipe as if it was her personal home. Her patio is the most beautiful perch in town and her garden room is decked out with banquettes for lounging in romantic Laura Ashley-type fabrics.
Food: It's definitely one of the poshest brunch spots in town, serving eggs Benedict and crêpes but also good ol’ steak and eggs and corn pudding. Lunch can be as simple as a cool glass of Ruffino Prosecco paired with the Ouisie’s Splendid Spud --- baked potato slices topped with sour cream, caviar, salmon and dill. And for a truly elegant dinner, start with some brandied oysters based on Jones’ grandmother Lucy’s recipe and then indulge in a chicken breast with a sauté of poblano pesto, green chiles, Jack cheese, fresh corn kernels and scallions with sun-dried tomatoes, pico de gallo and sour cream and crispy corn tortillas.
