Pagliacci Pizza favors an East Coast-style pie featuring a thin, pliable crust. And that’s what it has dished up since 1979 at this University District location (the original outpost of the chain). Pizza by the slice and whole pies are offered in an order-at-the-counter, hustle-and-bustle environment. Toppings range from traditional to creative: goat cheese with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and green peppers on an olive oil base, or balsamic vinaigrette-marinated chicken with artichokes and red onion, to name just a few. The menu is enhanced with seasonal additions, which might include pear slices with Gorgonzola and rosemary potato. Beer, wine and soft drinks round out the menu.
