Panificio Restaurant Review:

A genuinely European aura suffuses this sprightly little café and bakery, sprinkled with charming bric-a-brac, on Beacon Hill's historic Charles Street. In the morning, linger over cappuccino (passable) and homemade granola with orange yogurt (scrumptious). Throughout the day, hefty sandwiches come with top-quality ingredients on fresh bread, though the Sicilian pizza is hard to resist. Dinner is a rather more elaborate affair featuring full, rather than counter, service and humbly satisfying entrées like chicken-wild mushroom fettuccine and pan-seared salmon with local creamed corn. The Back Bay boasts a more spacious and modern branch (61 Massachusetts Ave., Boston, 617-778-7769).
