THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pasion Restaurant Review:

Pasión is chef Jose Calvo-Perez’s fourth Peruvian restaurant in San Francisco (the other three comprise the Fresca enterprise). The 60-seat eatery is a lively and funky little space with a wraparound bar at the center. Rich dark woods and a palette of deep browns provide a sophisticated backdrop to vibrant purple suede booths and whimsical chandeliers. There are seven ceviches on this menu of "nuevo latino" cuisine, and they are the ideal starting point for any adventurous diner. We also like mussels and chorizo that swim in a silky tomato sofrito, and a traditional lomito saltado re-imagined as succulent tenderloin strips on a bed of onion, cilantro and tomato, steamed rice and french fries. For dessert, try the canela tres leches. Wines are mainly Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese, and cocktails are not to be missed.
