THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Peirano's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

There’s almost always something going on at Peirano’s: live music, mojito and wine tastings, happy hour specials. Proprietor Sanaa Dugan reopened the downtown Ventura restaurant in 2012. While it’s billed as “one world, many flavors,” the food leans heavily Mediterranean. Starters include hummus and baba ghanouj, and a rack of lamb is rubbed with olive oil, garlic and rosemary. Cioppino brims with fresh local seafood in a saffron-fennel broth. The space, located at the west end of Main Street, began life in 1877 as Peirano’s Italian Grocery. Weather permitting, the outdoor patio overlooking Figueroa Plaza, with its fountain and adjacent park, is decidedly pleasant. There is a full bar as well as a nice international selection of wines by the glass or bottle. If it’s available, try the banana-bourbon bread pudding with caramel sauce for dessert.
