Waiters bring steaming bowls of pho --- beef noodle soup --- which may be enjoyed simply with sliced beef, or include add-ons of brisket, flank steak, fat tendon and tripe. Fresh ingredients come on the side to enhance the soup, like Thai basil, bean sprouts, sliced peppers and lime. For hotheads there is an abundance of spicy condiments on each table to add some fire. There’s no more satisfying quick lunch than a bowl of pho, the ultimate comfort food.
