THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pier 213 Seafood Restaurant Review:

Offering a casual, ocean-suggestive décor, Pier 213 has its own boat for catching fish and shellfish in Mobile, Alabama, so offers them freshly caught. Farm-raised seafood is not allowed. Start with a cup of andouille-flecked gumbo, which incorporates crab and shrimp, or Sapelo Island (coastal Georgia) clams and mussels. These plump, juicy Gulfers show a sweet tenderness and a crisp coating, and, like the fried shrimp and wild-caught catfish, are not at all greasy. But baked Gulf oysters, still quivering with freshness and just barely heated through, are a great rival. We also recommend the fried wild-caught tilapia which shows that sweet-fleshed character that's totally lacking in the farm-raised version. Note that grilled wild-caught salmon comes medium-rare unless you specify otherwise. For sides, try the Dirty Rice and crisp, not too mayonnaise-y coleslaw. No one will be able to resist the oven-warmed sticky toffee pudding for dessert, although the Key lime pie is a worthy alternative. Founding chef/owner Tom Richardson still handles the cooking. The wine list is not what it should be to support the food quality, but there are a couple of decent choices by the glass. A family-friendly restaurant, Pier 213 has a special menu for children.
