PRINT. Restaurant Restaurant Review:

There’s finally a reason to travel to Eleventh Avenue besides getting your car serviced. Elegant PRINT. Restaurant in Ink48, a Kimpton Hotel, occupies this relatively bleak stretch of Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by David Rockwell, PRINT. is a sophisticated space with a palette of tan and wood, with many elements organic or recycled. Menu choices revolve around the popular farm-to-table organic variety, with fresh ingredients sourced either locally or from the best purveyors in the country. Chef Charles Rodriguez, together with restaurateur Adam Block, created dishes that are simple and seasonal. He also hired a forager whose sole responsibility is to liaise with produce, fish and meat providers around the country. Di Stefano burrata (from California) served with sea salt, cherry tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil was creamy, melting immediately in the mouth. A chicory salad was lightly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette while a sweetly tart huckleberry sauce made from Oregon fruit graced a Mountain View Farm crispy duck breast. Seafood fans have several choices including red snapper, yellowfin tuna and monkfish, each presented with a medley of vegetables, light sauces and herbs. Sticky toffee pudding hearkened more to the Caribbean than to the Upper West Side and, with coffee, made for a nice ending to a meal. The wine list spans the globe, plucking the affordable bottles from the most popular wine regions.
