PR’s Taco Palace is on the railroad tracks in Winter Park, and everyone in Central Florida knows the place. It is often busy, so expect to wait for a table unless you go early. There's usually a convivial crowd of college students, locals at the bar and families. Baskets of warm chips and mild salsa hit the table as soon as you are seated, and the margaritas aren't far behind. If you’re not in the mood for the chili con queso nachos, start off with the double-dipped buffalo chicken wings or the spicy stuffed jalapeño poppers. We go for tacos or quesadillas, the fried blackened chicken filled green chilies, shrimp enchiladas and sizzling fajitas. Not exactly a low-cal meal, but when you crave Tex-Mex, PR’s hits the spot.
