THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Pub at Ghirardelli Square Restaurant Review:

The Pub at Ghirardelli Square is an unlikely culinary hero. First, it’s located on Ghirardelli Square, near Fisherman's Wharf, an area where restaurants are better known as tourist traps than memorable dining establishments. Second, the concept driving the restaurant’s kitchen is not seafood, but rather good old-fashioned barbecue, and not some kind of upscale interpretation, but the kind that requires a Wet-Nap at the end of the meal. Tender Texas-style brisket exudes a sweet smokiness, and fall-off-the-bone ribs are sticky with barbecue sauce packing a touch of heat. Creamy, dense, truffled mac ‘n’ cheese is an option, as are Tommy Tots: addictive tater tots drenched in a sweet and sour glaze and sprinkled with blue cheese. The pub's spacious interior features high ceilings, lots of booth seating and additional high tables, along with good views of San Francisco Bay. Beverages include six beers on tap and a specialty cocktail menu. The kitchen stays open until 1:30 a.m. every night; a full late-night menu ranges from fish tacos to brisket Reubens and New York-style cheesecake. Outdoor seating during weekend brunch is a nice touch.
