THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Quality Meats Restaurant Review:

Before even opening its doors, Quality Meats already had some serious street cred. The New York import, founded by Alan Stillman in partnership with chef Craig Koketsu, has been a Manhattan landmark for almost a decade. Stillman, who also founded New York’s original Smith & Wollensky in 1977 and subsequently its South Pointe Park location 20 years later, thought it would be fun to have history repeat itself, only this time he brought his son into the mix. If you pay a visit to the South Beach incarnation of Quality Meats, you'll find Michael Stillman wining and dining guests on any given night. But it's the unique offerings at this modern yet deeply-rooted steakhouse --- items like house-made charcuterie that include local brewer Cigar City’s Jai Alai-infused sausage (pigs ’n a blanket style), instant house-cured slab bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly, and a plethora of dry-aged steaks supplied by butcher Pat LaFrieda --- that keep diners coming back for more. Sides are plentiful, with possibilities such as corn brûlée and gnocchi. Wash it all down with a Cabernet from Napa Valley winemaker Groth Vineyards & Winery, or any one of the 100-plus wines sitting pretty in the cellar. Ask the sommelier and he'll gladly pair any selection with your steak dinner. Make sure to leave room for dressed-up ice cream scoops or a piece of ice cream cake.
