Red Fort Restaurant Review:
One of the first upmarket Indian eateries in London, the Red Fort’s décor is plush and stylish, rather like the media clientele. The cooking is classic Mughal with much use made of the tandoor and the grill. Expect top ingredients in dishes like classic murgh malai (chicken breast with garlic and cardamom) or slow-cooked lamb with ginger, garlic, coriander and red chilli. The wine list is good and the service professional. The downstairs bar jumps most nights with a sophisticated crowd sampling the cocktails. Set 2-course lunch £12, set 2-course pre-theatre menu £16 including tea or coffee.
