Red Square’s décor exudes Slavic grandeur, with royal red tones, chandeliers from the Polish Embassy in Moscow and a larger-than-life statue of a headless Lenin greeting you as you enter. The Light Group’s executive chef Brian Massie has created a menu featuring a mix of American and Eastern European flavors. Begin with Siberian nachos, made with smoked salmon, wasabi cream, chive, tobiko and wonton chips, or the steak tartare with sirloin, Dijon, caper and truffled toast. A separate caviar menu lists an extensive selection of Siberian sturgeon, osetra and American hackleback. Entrées include filet mignon and a bone-in rib-eye tomahawk, along with beef stroganoff with braised short rib and chicken Kiev with Yukon potato and wild mushroom. Save room for the toffee bread pudding and salted caramel ice cream with rum-based caramel toffee sauce. For a grand vodka experience, visit the Vodka Vault, which pours high-end vodkas. Although the vault is kept at below-freezing temperatures, full length coats and hats are provided.
