The Regency Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Known since the mid-70s as “the place” for the power meeting, the so-called “New York Power Breakfast,” The Regency has morphed into The Regency Bar & Grill on Manhattan’s Lenox Hill with a busy bar scene and a full-service restaurant. A private room in the back is perfect for a small gathering. Set in the luxurious Loews New York hotel, the semi-formal restaurant has an upscale American grill menu, lightened with small plates, burgers, and other more contemporary dishes.

Likes: The polish of the hotel extends into the restaurant setting.
Dislikes: Tourists at the bar can be distracting.

Food & Drinks: A delicious starter is the porcini truffle pizza, shareable and presenting a nice contrast to the meat-heavy offerings. For the carnivores among you, however, the airy veal meatballs are a must as an appetizer. Steaks are the go-tos when it comes to entrées, with a Prime bone-in rib-eye skillfully grilled and served in the tradition of other fine-dining steakhouses with roasted potatoes, pan-roasted wild mushrooms, and a variety of steak sauces. The wine list complements well, with reds and whites from around the globe joining Long Island vintages and French Champagne. Sixteen choices by the glass are available. Local beverage, bakery and food producers are featured on the menu, including Brooklyn Gin, and cakes and other pastries from the West Village’s Mah Ze Dahr Bakery and Bon Vivant New York.
