Founded by Roy Yamaguchi in East Honolulu, this chain locates its Tampa branch across the street from the luxury shopping complex, International Plaza. The restaurant features open dining areas, an expansive lounge with a community table and an exhibition kitchen. Design details include concrete tile floors, a wood ceiling, and handcrafted wrought iron and blown glass fixtures. The shellfish sampler includes butter-poached half lobster tail, seared scallops and stuffed shrimp. Other seafood favorites include the blackened tuna and the macadamia mahi mahi. In addition to filet mignon and an island-style pork pot roast, the menu includes New Zealand rack of lamb, a 14-ounce rib-eye steak and Roy's Classic Trio: blackened grilled salmon, Roy's original blackened island ahi and Hawaiian-style misoyaki butterfish.
