Rucola Restaurant Review:
Family-run Rucola fits into its Dean Street location as snugly as a brownstone, welcoming families (and babies) for early meals. The farmhouse-style restaurant also caters to Brooklyn’s food-loving hipsters with a fresh farm-to-table menu of Italian bounty and vegetables. Chef Joe Pasqualetto keeps it simple with branzino crudo lightly dressed with Ligurian olive oil; brook trout adorned with lemon, olives and chili flakes; and a tender roast chicken. Create your own vegetable antipasti plate with marinated olives, balsamic roasted beets, eggplant caponata and fried cauliflower. Wines are mostly Italian, with a few French selections. Ask your knowledgeable server for a recommendation. The crowd shifts after sunset. Plan a visit before or after a concert at the Barclays Center.
