THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurant Review:

Fine dining at Ruth's Chris may be experienced via dinner with a significant other, business colleagues or family members celebrating a special occasion. There are still hints of New Orleans swagger, like the Broad Street Hurricane with 23-year-old Zacapa Centenario rum or the barbecued shrimp that’s memorable for its presentation and flavor. Most portions are immense, even by St. Louis standards --- the greaseless shoestring potatoes are enough for the entire table. The quality of the featured steaks is first-rate, whether or not they're topped with the house's lily-gilding butter. Bread pudding with whiskey sauce is probably the way founder Ruth Fertel made it at home, a simple dessert after a good meal. The by-the-glass wine list is heavy on American labels, and though they’re perfectly fine, the selection of bottles is more notable, including a lovely amontillado for dessert. This Ruth's Chris location is situated among the power brokers in central Clayton; their counterparts downtown can visit 315 Chestnut St., Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront, 314-259-3200.
