For DC foodies who like pan-Asian eats and are looking for a destination that offers spicy pad thai with a side of sushi, the Satay Club on upper Wisconsin will fill the bill. Mealtimes find an influx of the young, and not-so-young, and hungry crowded in the compact dining room. This little restaurant turns out a notable collection of traditional dishes as well as those that are rather hard-to-find in the West, starting with Malaysian rendang, a kind of spicy beef stew, and the Indonesian classic salad called gado-gado. Fortunately, the place does a brisk take-out business and lets customers order online, making the long wait for food consumer-friendly.
