Screamin’ Mimi’s Restaurant Review:

Screamin’ Mimi’s is one of the North Bay’s best ice cream parlors --- and it’s certainly one of the most popular. Two dozen flavors of ice cream and sorbet occupy the case daily, all made in petite five-gallon batches. Everything’s natural (except the Oreos in the hands-down top-seller Mimi’s Mud, an espresso kick-start that’s also packed with strips of homemade fudge). Staples like “galaxy chip” and “deep dark secret” compete with sophisticated concoctions: cardamom ice cream, mojito sorbet or fudge-striped “white tiger” with Grand Marnier and candied orange. When gardens bloom, so do flavors of lavender or strawberry. Lucky for customers, scoops here are sold by weight, so portion sizes can be customized. The ice cream is also offered by the pint and quart. For the best deal around, check out the deeply discounted, pre-packed pint list.
