Ship Tavern Restaurant Review:

Looking for a little history to go with your lunch or dinner? Sail into this nautically themed landlubber's getaway. Opened in 1934 and one of The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, Autograph Collection’s three eateries, this is the most casual of them all. It's a rustic room --- complete with a ship mast and crow's nest --- perfect for a quality meal or an after-work drink. Prime rib, Rocky Mountain trout and buffalo burgers are the most sought after dishes, prepared with care by the Brown's whip-smart kitchen staff. The menu also features a slew of other swanky items. We like the smoked duck breast salad and the lobster salad sandwich. True, like most of the items here they're pricey, but they're also loaded with rare flavors. Full-size entrées include grilled beef tenderloin, a maple glazed pork chop and filets of Pacific fish cooked a handful of different ways. If you’re seeking a quiet nightcap in cozy surroundings, stop in for a pint or cocktail and some tender tinkling from the house piano man.
