Sloan's Restaurant Review:

If you're not a child when you walk in, you'll feel like one instantly once you're engulfed in this old-fashioned ice cream parlor's playful pink, chandeliered interior, surrounded by giant cookies, candies, and cakes plus a train and other toys. There is even a replica of the signature grown-up plaything at Sloan's original Clematis Street location---the famous bathroom door, a disconcertingly clear glass panel that automatically fogs up when in use. Ice cream is the main plaything; the place is renowned for its elaborate homemade flavors, some sensible (vanilla with brownies, caramel, and toffee), some questionable (cotton candy with gummy bears). But even plain flavors are striking, like coffee intensified by crushed coffee bean bits. Portions are large, whether a single scoop or a theatrical meal-size sundae.
