THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sly's Restaurant Review:

Chef-owner James Sly, formerly of Lucky’s in Montecito, took over a space that’s seen many a sports bar --- and turned it into an elegant steakhouse. Prime, aged beef is the main draw, and Sly prepares it admirably: grilled to order and served with a choice of sauces including béarnaise, Cognac pepper and mushroom ragoût, among others. His seafood dishes are also notable --- fresh bay scallops from the icy waters of Nantucket are tossed with butter and breadcrumbs; the generous Dover sole is available both grilled and meunière. Another highlight is fresh, local abalone, prepared simply but gracefully (the abalone and eggs is his best brunch item). For those who don’t see fit to pay abalone and Prime steak prices, Sly’s offers “Blue Plate Specials,” a nod to the Depression-era tradition of affordable meals on a single plate. Look for comfort food such as chicken potpie, filet mignon meatloaf and beef stroganoff with wild mushrooms.
