Soleil@K Restaurant Review:

This airy restaurant with subtle yellow tones and frosted glass is located at the doorstep of Petco Park, in the Marriott San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, ensuring a steady clientele of baseball revelers and hotel patrons. Chef Eddie Fincher helms the kitchen, where his California cuisine includes starters like tempura lobster with a wild mushroom risotto cake and truffle butter, or carefully constructed artisan cheese plates with fig jam, honeycomb and various dried fruits. Flatbreads --- like rock shrimp and avocado with chorizo and roasted peppers --- are good to share. Fincher’s interesting flavor combinations make for a fun menu read, like his grass-fed rib-eye with leeks, au gratin potato and red wine sauce, and grilled yellowtail with a pesto and sun-dried tomato mash, basil aïoli and sautéed spinach. Lunches include a colorful Caribbean salad dotted with papaya, mango and berries, and salmon tacos with lemon sour cream and pico de gallo. Desserts show creativity, in particular the caramel and cream soda float and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding with espresso whipped cream.
