solita Tacos & Margaritas Restaurant Review:

This casual restaurant located amongst the lofts at Huntington Beach’s sprawling Bella Terra shopping and residential complex is a sister venue to Sol Cocina, the popular Mexican eatery situated along Newport Beach’s harbor. While it doesn’t have a waterfront view, its sleek earth tones, intricate wall patterns and lengthy outdoor patio give it a relaxed urban vibe that fits well with the surrounding digs. After you have indulged in a margarita or two at the nicely appointed bar, you will find that executive chef Deborah Schneider’s menu is different than the one at her Newport spot, and this departure results in plenty of new takes on regional Mexican cuisine. Familiar starters like guacamole are livened up with diced mango and Serrano chile, while unique items such as the must-try grilled corn elote are a refreshing spin on the usual antojito fare. This motif of elevated classics and intriguing regional dishes continues through the main courses. Tacos, burritos and the not-quite-fully-wrapped lazy enchiladas share space with winning plates of charro-smoked pork ribs and the oak-roasted chipotle-rubbed chicken. Desserts like the rum-infused, grown-up churro sundae make the place worth stopping by for something sweet after a day of shopping. Guests can start their weekend with a bucket of mimosas or micheladas and brunch fare from sweet berry cinnamon bread pudding to savory shredded beef machaca and eggs.
