Steam Restaurant Review:

This chic pan-Asian restaurant sports a Williamsburg, Brooklyn, design concept that exudes casual and stylish at the same time. The sunlit dining room's wooden tables, fresh potted plants wrapped in burlap, brushed metal chairs and plank wood backdrop with attached bench seating are inviting, even before you notice the day's offerings scrawled on a chalkboard. The menu highlights Cantonese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Thai fare with a little Szechuan thrown in for extra spice. With nary a dim sum palace in sight, this place’s selection of bite-size lunch nibbles is most welcome. Crystal pea leaf dim sum, pork dumplings and roast pork buns make for great starters to share. Chicken lettuce cups --- diced and minced chicken with vegetables served on crispy lettuce --- hit the spot. So do Vietnamese summer rolls: rice wraps filled with shrimp, vegetables and vermicelli. Otherwise, go for roast duck sautéed with ginger and black beans for a satisfying entrée.
