THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Szmania's Restaurant Review:

Szmania's menu is divided between the original version created by chef Ludger Szmania, which showcased his German roots and steakhouse classics, and the global inspirations of current chef Michael Rogozinski. Long a Magnolia neighborhood favorite, this place has a lively family atmosphere, a welcoming community table, and a stone fireplace for warmth. The friendly bar and lounge at the rear of the restaurant are ideal for sharing drinks and conversation, while counter seats at the left of the room overlook all the kitchen action. Appetizers feature house-smoked salmon, and sides include a German tart. Entrées range from a center-cut New York strip steak and wild Alaskan king salmon to halibut seasoned Yucatan-style. Several entrées are offered in smaller portions at reduced prices. A full bar and a Northwest-centric wine list complement the menu. On the long list of sweets is a standout citron tart with lime, orange and grapefruit custard in a graham cracker crust.
