Takorea Restaurant Review:

This colorful, fast-casual spot welcomes with a bright, intense red, blue and orange mural on one wall. An all-season patio provides additional seating, but we prefer indoors. Fresh ingredients and filling, flavorful options make lunch a cheap treat. We like the crispy shrimp with hoisin tartar sauce and red pepper sauce, gently spicy. The quesadilla, which may come with beef or chicken, enfolds the proteins with kimchi and jack cheese, and provides three large, overstuffed wedges with tomatillo salsa that's just slightly spicy and sour cream. The snack menu offers some worthy choices; try the pork dumplings with their companion soy dipping sauce --- they come to the table freshly fried and piping hot. For sweet endings, there's a rotating selection of "paletas" (popsicles). The place has enough full bar service to make a margarita or similar quaff, and there's sangría and a few wines and beers. Also located in Midtown at 818 Juniper St. NE, 404-532-1944.
